Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad was in operation in the early 1900s. It was used to haul logs from the forest to the sawmill. The engine is a "Shay" three cylinder shaft drive steamer with a top speed of about fifteen miles per hour. It has been converted to burning re-cycled oil and is currently operated as a tourist attraction several times a week.
