Days Away From Dissolution

This house built in about 1922 is only days away from dissolution.
A hole will be dug and the house will pushed into it and burned.
I will be able to save some siding from it to make frames from.
The barn will remain and be repaired to maybe stand 100 more years.

other sizes: small medium original auto

I love the light and colors in this shot. My favorites always have stories attached to them.

What a shame its going, and I can't really understand why, as its not as if they're short of open space round there! If you are able to frame this picture with remnants of the house, it would make an absolutely perfect keepsake of the place.

Perfect retirement tribute to the ol' place. Well done, Mike.

I hate to see the house go. The work you did on this image is spectacular! You have given the buildings dignity and captured their flavor forever! I love this shot! You nailed it.;)

Excellent work Mike.

The shot is great to start with and the post-processing wonderful. It is a shame that they are not going to deconstruct it rather than destroy it; as a hobby cabinet maker the material in a house like this is a valuable resource. Thanks for the opportunity to see it before its demise.

Like to the aforementioned foggy dream, it will fade into the mist of time. Splendid one Mike; but also a tear to the loss of a photographic gem.

Congratulations on capturing this beautiful scene before it is gone forever! And thank you for sharing the beauty of yesteryear with the rest of us!

Cool shot. Like a foggy dream image. Great treatments in this. I like it a lot.
