Keen Eye

To really bring out the feeling of all the old homes that Glenn and I visit you need a "Keen Eye".
Ya we could just shove the camera in some open window or door fire off a few frames and call it good, but it's not just like that for us. We take our time to explore and feel the energy of these old places. We walk into an old 2 or 3 room home and shoot for over twenty minutes not missing any details. Sometime's the light is real bad and the smell can almost knock you out, but we stay to capture these images. I have said it before how can you just walk away? The sad part for me is that Glenn my great shooting buddy has taken a super job offer and is moving in just 8 short weeks. We have explored so many places that I think our cameras are going to be worn out soon.
We have painted with light to bring a new feeling to these old places and have gotten some very cool images. Yup I'm going to miss Glenn but I'm going to enjoy seeing his images from 2500 miles away........

It's been awhile since I've visited Pbase and your Every Now & Then gallery. I miss these old abandoned places and the decay that is so intriqueing to us. The perspective is one a vermit would have. No scraps here I'm afraid. Now I must go explore more of what I've been missing.

OOOOH! I love the cracks in the floor...the texture is excellent. The perspective gives you a whole new feeling. I love this. Good luck to Glenn in his new job. I know you will always remember these days capturing so many wonderful old places!

Great 'Keen Eye' Mike. I have learned a lot about shooting from you and will maintain my Saskatachewan connection though your fantastic images. (And we still got 8 weeks to 'shoot up' the place and draw in that energy and ponder on why and how places are just abandoned. (And thanks. - Glenn ))
