The Contract & The Contractor

Thompkins SK.

Sad but true our prairie icons are coming down one at a time.
It is hard to watch them fall but this is progress.
With the advent of inland terminals you really don't need an elevator ever 10 miles.
Thompkins had 8, this one built in the mid 20's is the last in town and is being
torn down....Grain companies close them, farmers won't buy them...so down they come.
Dave has removed hundreds and in 30 min's it's gone from the skyline.
It's not his fault he's just doing a job...he never becomes attached to them.....

Good job on the reflection. I drove from BC to Saskatoon and hoped to see lots of grain elevators. I remember only one.

Great shot and great story. The story adds so much more. Sad.

Il y a triste. (But a good capture of the elevator's final hours.)

Beautiful reflections and sad for them being torn down. These icons should remain as that, history to the next generation! Beautiful job, however in capturing this! v
