In The Way of Progress

The Brunswick hotel on the left and the Merchant Building on the right are prepped
for removal by this excavator. This machine sits on what once was the "Royal Hotel" .
This excavator has already removed and filled in this spot.
Obscured by the machine is "Nevada Nickels Hotel & Bar" it to will be removed for "Progress".

I don't like this kind of progress. I like the history. I love your perspective but that building could be restored into something!

Its a shame to see history become ancient history. Least now theres pictures.

I look at the workmanship in some of these old buildings and wonder sometimes how we think that we are going to do better. It is a sad transition and often results in glass and concrete monstrosities replacing the character of towns and communities. You are doing a good job of recording this type of thing Mike. ~V~

Yeah, progress. They were a big part of Moose Jaw's history and atmosphere.
