The Only Guy In Town

There is one good thing about being on the road all the time and that's your up early.
I get to some places way before any of the residents are even out of bed.
This was captured in early January after a overnight light snowfall.......
I was the first one in town on the new snow and the only one at close to 4:30 A.M.
Yup you get the best images at this time of day no matter what time of year.
I was really shooting down the center of the street to the train station.
When I walked across the street and got down low I saw this image, It really shows off the lonely town
with only my truck on main street..........
Notice this is also a 10 second shot, I seldom use my tripod or should I say never use my tripod for this type of image.
I'm just to lazy....and I really like the low angle and wide views you get from ground zero.........
Composition is also difficult from this angle, but I do enjoy the challenge.

Great image Mike, it looks like a dozen other small towns in Saskatchewan, although truthfully, I have not seen that many towns at 4:30 in the morning ..

Oh, what's a tripod? ;)

It looks peaceful is a way. I love the POV and the wide angle really make the point about no one being about. I haven't been out at that hour in a long time :-)

Cool shot of a "one Cat town" (...and I totally hear you on that tripod thing.)

i go to work at 6 and drive from what i consider a fairly peaceful town to the 'hood.... and sometimes i feel like the only guy..........but i'm not.
this picture is fabulous, and i love the perspective!

Great shot Mike; also my camera's favourite time of the day. No matter how much I resist it keeps dragging me out of bed. That ultrawide really gives you the DoF to pull off shots like this and you use it like a master. ~V~

You were the only "CAT" in town at that time....great composition Mike, and I love the 10 seconds!

I used to go to work at 04:30 but there was already at least another thousand people around, and I left that early as the traffic wasn't all that bad at that hour! Man, I really love being retired and living in a town with less than 1100 people! Our town, at 04:30 is probably a lot like that town! For sure I'll never now. Nice shot!
