This is the view you get while your waiting for the "cage".
The shaft is behind me and it is some 3300 feet to the surface.
Looking away from the shaft you can see tunnels going in all directions, this is where the first
underground shop was built when the mine opened, the miners are 42k away from the shaft now
at the farthest point out and the new underground shop is 14k away from the shaft.
It's over a one and a half hour drive to get to the farthest 4 rotor miner.
The "cage" is a double stack and holds 7 workers per car 14 in total and it takes only 2 1/2 mins to make
the 3300 foot trip..........I sat on this bench alone for over ten min. waiting for the next ride to the surface....
You can see this area has lot's of light but just after you enter any of the tunnels it turns to total darkness.....
