Holy iMac Batman

So after two weeks with my PC gone and going to cost $400.00 for a mother board
I'm moving to Mac....yup sick of the PC and Vista crap.
So It's iMac and Aperture 2 software...all new to me so no more Photo Shop.
They say it takes about 2 weeks to learn the Mac....It looks like fun.
So tonights project is the setup....wish me luck... :-)
This image was done on my old trusty Sony Vaio running XP and windows one care.
It took about 45mins to start the PC load the CF card and post this image...CRAP.
Oh ya and it only cost me a little over 2 grand to switch...........

They are badass looking. You'll have to let me know the final verdict when the honeymoon is over. I may be looking at them.

Geez....no more photoshop? I think I would have withdrawal symptoms! But, you gotta do what you gotta do!!!!!!!

Well your half way there... switching to Canon will be the utopia of decisions!

Congratulations and welcome to the club. As a Mac man since the days of the Fat Mac (circa 1985), I guarantee that you will not regret your decision. In fact, Marni said everything I would have. Two weeks? No way. Maybe two hours...

Aperture may be a different story. I've tried it on for size but really don't like the interface. Let me know how you get on with Aperture.

Oh no he's gone over to the "Dark Side"! Just kidding. The thing I missed the most on an Apple a few years ago was the scroll wheel on the mouse. Maybe they've changed that now. You'll adapt and I hear you on Vista. I'm running XP Pro and it's no problem at all.

Yay Mike!!! Welcome to the wonderful world of Mac. I guarantee you'll love it and wonder why it took you so long to make the change! I'd be surprised if it takes you two weeks to learn the Mac, they're so user-friendly...maybe Aperture, but not the Mac itself. Have fun my friend, have FUN!

Welcome to Apple Mike, the computer for doing fun things (we'll leave the PC's for work stuff). Now if we can only convince Steve to switch!

I'm thinking a good choice! I liked my iMac back when I worked in a school district. I had two (first an office model and later a laptop) for my personal use so that I could work at home during school breaks and not have to drive in to our office. The only trouble I had was that we like to play Pogo games and it was very slow playing the games, but, that was about four years ago and it might be better now. Maralee has a new PC and we are not that happy with Vista (it's on my laptop also) I have XP on mine and our first PC has 98 which we keep around for the grand kids to use when they are visiting, both of those work fine. My next could be an Apple. They sure are good looking computers!

Congrats Mike. I made the switch about 6 months ago and have not looked back.

Well when you said thinking; well it was a little more serious than I thought. Nice job, a good luck.

Welcome to the club Mike. You have a real computer now and I'm sure you'll love it. You can still run photoshop as your external image editor, but the way you organize your images and do the back up is forever changed.
