Crop Dusting The Saskatchewan Way

This 1967 vintage Aero Commander 600-S2D based out of Moose Jaw SK. and owned by Band City Aviation
dusts a crop early in the morning by Pense SK.
This is one more that was on my "list".
It's very hard to find these guys in action and be in the right place to shoot them is another story.
It all went my way today....Time, light and location were all on my side.

Nikon D300
1/125s f/10.0 at 200.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

We think it is so cool. He is probably so bored. Sweet find though.

I would LOVE to fly one of these babys...er Aerial Applicators :)

Here I thought you'd be laying in the field in a bio-hazard suit, pointing that weather sealed Nikon straight up at the belly of the plane. Come on Mike, quit going for the "easy" shot. ;)

Very well done Mike. Another check mark on the "list" is always a great feeling.

Today's breed prefers the tab 'Aerial Applicators' to 'crop dusters'. It is a pretty sophisticated business compared to "the old days". And lots of regulations. Nice shot; you are right - they don't spend a lot of time in one place.

Very nice Mike...we saw one last weekend working near Wakaw, but as you said the right place to shoot from is a whole other story. Glad you got another one off your "list" :).
