Hi there, my name is Jason. I worked at George Street for a year from 1984-85. June and David were joint managers,Paul was senior stylist and there was also 2 stylists named Ken and Guido. There was an extremely camp guy from Germany who did the teas, coffees and sandwiches. Lisa,Margarita,Gaill,Paul and Crispian were juniors(in our ridiculous white dungarees)at the same time as me.
Not sure that Ricci spent much time hairdressing by then. Spent most of his time over the road at Burns with his mum, occasionally popping in, and regularly using the sunbed lol!

My name is Jan the guy with the curly moustache. In the early eighties I to worked next door in the Aristocrat pub.Paul and Juan Garcia did Mrs Diane's hair. Ricci frequently used the pub to drink Canadian Club with lots of ice. Most charming man.
Indeed I am wondering what happened to Paul. Ik know Juan died in the early nineties.

I’m crispian I worked at Ricci burns in the 80s I was only 15 when I start , paul was a stylist there who was really a great help to me . David was manager . I was a junior with Lisa and Margarita and later on I had a great Freind dean. I remember me and Dean took on the job as cleaners to get some extra money and while cleaning we would play the tune car wash full blast because no one else was there. One day a complaint went to ricci house and he came to check it out . Me with the hover and Dean with mop .ricci came in . We didn’t know he was there for a while as we where to busy cleaning and dancing to the music. Then we look up saw ricci and ducked laughing. We thought we where in trouble but luckily ricci saw the funny side . I learned my trade there and had happy times. crispiann@hotmail.co.uk

I was just a client at Ricci Burns’ Kings Road salon in the early 1970s. I went there be cause Mick Jagger was a client and I liked the apparently unstructured but of course carefully cut look. One day Bianca Jagger came in just after Ricci had started my cut, so I got ‘bumped off’ but Trevor took over and my cut was free that day!

My name is Adam and I started working at Ricci Burns George Street in 1980, I became Ricci’s junior and continued to work there while and after it was transformed into high tech white, Trevor, Anthony, John, Steve, Paul, Sally, Claire all fellow staff to name a few, what a great and interesting place to work. I went on to work at Trevor Anthony in Blandford Street where I actually became a hairdresser !
Guest 31-Oct-2018 00:43
Hi my name is Pat and i used to work at the florist in george street Daniel's Flowers, chocolates and Gifts we used to do display's for Ricci and his mum was nearly always on the reception desk and she would tell us in no uncertain terms if she did'nt like the displays but those were such good days
Andrew Thompson 12-Sep-2018 10:44
I worked in the George Street salon opposite Burns Dress shop back in the mid 1980’s, June was the manager, a lovely girl who I think lived in Kent. Others there were David who mysteriously disappeared and went overseas I think, Paul with the thin moustache, Jo in the colour dept and others who I cannot recall. “ Mrs B” who was something of a legend will always stick in my mind. Clients I recall were Gail Ronson, one of Ricci’s Biggest patrons, Jean Muir who was very sweet albeit a bit quirky, Sian Phillips and numerous others. The dreaded white uniform was a nightmare ( black would have been so much more forgiving 🙄) and the constant struggle NOT to get anything on it. Happy memories for me, I got on very well with Ricci, I liked him immensely. I’ve never forgotten my time there even now some 40 odd years later.
Stephanie 28-Aug-2018 15:22
Hi,
My name is Stephanie. Paul was my hairdresser for about 13 years. First at kings road and then George Street. I lost touch with him about 30 years ago. I would love to hear from anyone who knows his whereabouts. I always wondered what became of him. Last I heard was that Denholm (Elliot) wanted to open a salon with him in Spain. Sadly he passed away in 89 I think. I also used to have my highlights done by a number of people including Jo. She had long dark curly hair and was always so meticulous. They were great days '75 - late 80's. I have a photo. taken in The salon of Paul and three other guys. Not sure the other guys names. This was taken before Ricci sold the business. I still used to go after this but it wasn't the same. I have such fond memories of those days and Paul always made me feel special even though I was not one of the celebrity clients who frequented the place.

I worked for Ricci in George St as a junior and later as a stylist in the very early ‘80’s
I remember Paul very well. I am also called Paul, so I had to change my name
to avoid confusion. I chose Marc. I suppose I may have been a fan
of Mr Almond around that time. Also remember David Fiona Vicki Sharon to name
a few. Also Mrs B of course. I was just 17 or 18. 53 now. Where did it all go.
