Passageway, Fatehpur Sikri, India, 2008

Fatehpur Sikri is an abandoned labyrinth of sandstone galleries, pavilions, and structures that once served as Emperor Akbar imperial palace. I abstracted a couple of tourists by backlighting them and making them part of the architecture. One merges into a pillar, the other seemingly supports one of a thousand doors that have stood open for 400 years.

These humans could represent those who once walked these corridors of power 400 years ago. So they could also be
seen as ghosts of the past, rather than lost in the past.

The humans are lost amid history.

The silhouettes bring this passageway to life. Thank's, Mo, for appreciating it.
