As the river continues to rise, more water leaks through the needles of the floodgates. The leaks have now turned into torrents.

I had expected the Corps of Engineers to open the gates yesterday, but there are political considerations. The environmentalists start a huge controversy each time it's necessary to open the spillway. With all the rain in the Missouri, Ohio and Mississippi River Valleys, I believe they'll have to open the gates.

With the rising water, guess they'll be opening the Bonne Carre sometime soon.
