The figurine seems to float in the air! Wonderful, brilliant colors and very sharp focus on the detail here. Well done.

I went out to shot this morning and the yard was devoid of activity, no squirrels no birds nothing. This is very unusual, except that we are expecting a storm in this afternoon and, the animals may have already gathered the food they need.

We have the local bird squirrel raccoon and possum market in our back yard.

Brent thanks for the suggestion I will try it. My Photoshop skills are getting a little better but there is a lot I still don't know.
I used the "paint bucket and gradient tools" on the BG layer then pasted the birds on it.

Yes, I do hope you get a chance to get one. I think I have 1, just 1 shot of a cardinal. They don't like me. They come to my feeder all the time but, I can't take photos of my feeders, it is always just silhouettes (sp?). I've taken them with the flash and that doesn't look good either. So, I was rooting for you Richard! You still have time, behave yourself and get better! If it's any consolation, this is better then my best shot of a cardinal. LOL ;o)

Richard the colors really are astounding and the statue really is a beautiful piece of work. I wonder if it is possible to play with the lighting a bit to make the blue seem more like sky and the base of the statue to blend towards darkness?

Beautiful work and a nice sharp shot, regardless.

Thinks Andrew, AT first the weather was bad so no live shots and now I have the flu. I am beginning to wonder if I’ll ever get my real live cardinal

Good luck in your endeavors to find a real male cardinal. This piece could stand well on its own if shot outside with a pleasing background.
