Culzean Castle Fountain

Culzean Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland.

Originally shot in colour, the cloud patterns and textural detail has proved itself even more memorable as a monochrome study. Even the tiles in the base of the fountain seem to echo the patterns in the sky.

Pentax 67 II ,55-100 zoom,Fujichrome Velvia
polariser, 0.6ND grad, F/32 at 1 sec, (converted to mono using channels mixer). full exif

While some might consider it sacrilege to convert Velvia to B&W the result here is fantastic. +V

BTW I've also gotten a very good B&W out of Provia.
