Today I found out that I was accepted to the Fast Track Photojournalism Program at Loyalist College. There were 54 applicants and only ten were chosen! This coming May 5, 2008 will be the start of our class.
"The Loyalist College Photojournalism Program is the most comprehensive applied photojournalism program in Canada. We are not just about training you to work in the field; we want graduates to set new standards for photojournalism in Canada. If you dream of shooting pictures and writing stories for newspapers, magazines, photo agencies and on-line publications, you’ve chosen the right school. You provide the passion and we’ll provide a work environment with the academic stimuli and the latest in techniques for image capture, processing, printing and publishing.
Drawing upon the advice and guidance of a dynamic Advisory Board drawn from major publications across Ontario and Quebec, our students are well connected to industry from the first day of the program.
Loyalist Photojournalism has a proven track record of graduate success. Former students are now shooting for, and managing major newspaper and magazine photo operations, freelancing around the globe, winning National Newspaper Awards, publishing books and exhibiting their photographs and working successfully in many of the country’s magazines and daily and weekly newspapers."
