Questar 7 fork mount with D200 and 500/4P lens. I can't think of any other form mount capable of handling a refractor type optical tube. In the background is a small external monitor I use to verify histograms and other back panel LCD info on the camera. Because I have to shoot from a low to the ground setup, I often can't physically get my head behind the camera back.
The patio cushion was the only thing between me and the frozen concrete patio. You just gotta do what you gotta do.... various other accouterments are present, including the carcass of my Phottix N1 remote, which failed two different ways during the event. I finished up the images with a cheap wired remote. I prefer wireless remotes simply to avoid any chance of shaking the camera while taking the exposures.
The redddish tinn is from a small LED light (used for astronimical work at night) waved about during the exposure to add some detail and an eerie glow :-)
