Louisiana's Contribution to the World

The four ships at anchor are either waiting to fill up at the oil refineries or the grain elevators that line the River Road in St. Charles Parish.
If we were to put up a big fence across the Mississippi River at this location a great part of the world would have no heating oil and would have to travel by foot as we supply the majority of oil and gas to the U. S. I'll bet few people know that if it were not for Louisiana's hard work gasoline prices would be at least five times what they are now, not to mention heating oil.
