HVO fighters, Gornji Vakuf

I use the term "fighter" a lot because a lot of these men were not in any formal military organization. These young Croatians were in downtown Gornji Vakuf, where Croats and the Bosnians loyal to the government in Sarajevo struggled for control. The Brits had a base on the edge of town and that made the situation even more complicated. If you are a student of military science interested in the impact of terrain on military action, this is the war for you.

I was a truck driver by the dutch un-forces in 1993 and we had to travel many times through Gornij Vakuf ..... impressive and scary especially by night. We had only one advise keep up maximum speed.
