Lavender Town

Saignon, near Apt, Provence, France.

A cliff side town at the edge a few kilometers out of Apt represents one end of the Lavender route where row after row of purple lavender stretch out providing a stunning start to the agricultural highlight of France. I particularly liked this aspect and viewpoint as normally the fields don't exhibit any obvious location behind, here we get that vital sense of place. Taken just before sunset in warm cross lighting.

Oh hoe very Provencal....(lol)Nice textures and lighting. Love the POV and compo. Nice to see where the lavender farmers live, for a change of pace. The land and man are linked here. Nicely done, Ian.

Fantastic shot! Just has it all!! Great lighting and like how the angle leading our eyes to this pretty village. Tickles my eyes too, that the two lilac fields are at different angles. V
