Parched

August 13
I started to work more on this image in photoshop, but decided against it. This is really how things look here now. It is very dry and everything that should be green is brown.

A month of ambient light and achromatic images.

A good result and very engaging image. The choice of monochrome was the right one for this subject. voted

You did well to show it as it is. Hope for you rain comes. Great image.

I pray you get rain soon. We've had a drought for years until it broke this year.

Hi Julie: As an Aussie who grew up in the outback, I do know how you feel, and I know it can be upsetting to see nature struggle. But it will recover. I'm glad you kept the picture original - that's true 'reportage'. Colin

so sad, here it's too wet.

I watched off of my porch this morning as the Beech trees are beginning to turn brown along the stream. The heat and lack of water are double blows in a year that started with the coldest spring blast in recorded history. It is hard to watch for one who loves nature!
