Took a trip to Hornby Island today. A 8 hour trip with two car ferries and a 5 kilometre walk with spectacular scenery. We seem to be always waiting for a ferry as these two islands ,first a ferry to Denman and then a second ferry over to Hornby were very busy. But a visit to the Helliwell Provincial Park at the tip of Hornby was well worth it. It was hot and I was first moaning about I should have taken my wide angle lens then we watched two eagles fight three turkey vultures over a seal carcass on the beach and I wished for my trusty 300mm plus 1.4 extender which I did not have either. Still a great day to be out in the sunshine with wonderful things to look at.
