It was 2pm, and we had pulled into a large parking lot for an appointment. I always carry (well sometimes I don't, but I should always carry) my camera with me on the job, so that I can photograph our completed projects for our website. I walk away at the end of each day with dozens of photographs of "joe construction worker" standing in a shower. Which is great, and sometimes the lighting strikes me .... just so.... and there is a mood to a work shot, and I feel ok posting it as my photo of the day. Other days, as I sort through the images at the end of the day... there are only shots in the queue that my boss would love. Ugggh! So, today, on the way to an appointment, I stopped in an overgrown parking strip to snatch this photograph of a spiky little blue flower. It was somewhat hidden beneath the overgrown foliage above, and as a result, the harsh mid-day lighting was diffused into a delicate little spotlight. Twas truly my best shot of the day.
