I, was assigned as a young Private to Co. K, 21st Inf. Regt, 24th Inf Div. in late 1952 at Camp Younghans and later of course made the move from Japan to Korea with the unit. I was at Munson and later ended up in the Yangu Valley with my unit. At the conclusion of the war, I was able to make my way from Kojo Do Island to Freedom Village where I was able to spend 4 hours with my Brother, a recent repatriated American Prisoner of War.

Thanks for the pictures. My Dad, Maj Campbell, was deputy post commander there from 52-53

Your photos brought back a lot of memories of Camp Younghans, Japan. This Camp was my first assignment in 1949, home of the 7th Infantry Division Artillery. (105mm howitzers). The 48th-49th-57th FA Bn. Can't remeember the last one. Landed in Korea in Sept. 1950, went on R&R from K-9 airstrip. I left Korea in October 1951 and spent another 6 years, 3 years in Germany.
You have a collection of photos that surpass all others I have seen. A friend, Billy Balke of the 24th just passed away about a year ago. I really enjoyed seeing all your pictures. They are in a good place for all to see, S/Sgt. David Peterson, 49th FA> BN.
