Early Morning

High Tatra Mountains, Slowakia

This is taken in Slovakia around about 29 years ago. Went through my negative-archive and found the line guidance on this image quite pleasing. Tell me what you think.
I just received a message from Marek Wilczura, clearing my question about the exact location:

"...it seems to be the White Water Valley (Belovodska Dolina) and the mountain in the far is Mlynar. The valley starts just behind the Polish-Slovak border in Lysa Polana and today look - of course - quite differently .. .;)) Hope that the identification is proper.

Lovely layers in this scene, starting with the human/animal component, the trees and then the various mountain peaks. The softness in the bg perhaps adds to the depth. The leading line of the path and line of trees beckons one on. Only the approaching hikers will be able to tell us just how beautiful yon valley is.

I have a dream of one day MTBiking through the Alps and every time I look at images like this it just sets me thinking again. Regardless of the technical aspects, its a great image.

Hello Jos, didn't know it appears soft, probably from the scan. Lots of detail got lost because I had to filter with NeatImage after scanning.

What a wonderful photo, the softness and B&W makes this great landscape even more beautiful...good work Michael.
