The Whitney restaurant, Detroit, Michigan

Ed and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here in 1976. I remember our being shocked by our bill that totaled the outrageous amount of $34!

I'd never have guessed this was a composite. I love the the left turn sign at the top, showing clearly that this restaurant is the only place to go!

Thirty-four dollars is the tip now, if you don't drink. We celebrated our tenth, in 1976, at the London Chop House and I choked over a very similar bill. I liked the "pretentious" description when I shot this a year ago on a very tough sun day, too. Great shot. http://www.pbase.com/papajim_48306/image/59029589
