At each shelter, a waterproof container holds a notebook in which all of the thru-hikers (going from Georgia to Maine) can write about their adventures so far. Anyone can read about their journey, and after the notebook is full, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy comes and picks it up and holds it in their archives. They have journals dated waaaaaay back... I think.

Bryan and I made a nice little addition to the journal... Hopefully we supplied comedic relief to those suffering from rotten toenails.
