Not an image that will float everyones boat I suspect but it pleases me.
Ruthven Barracks is on a flood plain adjacent to the Insch marshes a bird watchers paradise. A small copse of birches swamped by inky black peaty water has frozen solid in recent icy weather the fractured surface encapsulating fallen leaves on or just below it's surface. I found the gentle rosy colour palette provided by a setting sun reflecting off the ice and the trunks of the grey/green lichen covered trees a very beautiful and beguiling colour combination.
