Lunch to Go

Simi, CA

* 3-22-07 *

The only problem with Spring time is all of the darn black
widows that reproduce! This Femur has just spun-up a full
sized cricket, just to give you an idea of her size ~

other sizes: small medium original auto

:-Oh ch*t! That's the one spider that bothers the heck out of me, and fortunately I don't see them around often. And I hate to admit it, but it & brown recluse are two I won't hesitate to shorten existence. They're amazing creatures... but I still don't want one for a pet! lol Nice shot, love the markings.

Hiya everyone ~ thanx for the great comments! And trust me, no worries about me getting too close to her; she is in a semi clear plastic container that I had gotten some crickets in & kept just in case I came across something I wanted to photograph.. the only time she is let out is to clean her "cage" & even then, I don't touch her! I was amazed at how quickly she jumped on this guy; she must've been hungry!

Time to get out that can of Raid! Excellent shot of the lady having lunch! Don't get too close to those subjects. When I lived in California, the detached garage of our rented house was full of 'em but not for long. ;) Vote

Dick:)
