Very "original". Smart. Sam Attal.

Thanks, PK and Gayle! PK, well it did use two separate images and in most other challenges that alone would be considered a lot of PS! :-) ~Sharon

Incredibly clever!

So clever, it "cracks me up"...I'll bet the master, himself, would have been amused...:)
As for my proposed scale, it just goes to show how much more it would have to be tweaked. According to it, this would be classified as a PP5 when, in fact, very little PP was actually used.

A-ha. I DID wonder about Adam's hand, but was certain Gods was female. So I imagined they were both yours. Oh well.. As long as I recognize God I guess I'm well off. I'll see a shrink about the rest... sometime. Then again.. fun is fun.

You got the God part right, kiki, but Adam's hand is male. :-) ~Sharon

About God and her female creation you mean? ;)

I am so glad you noticed, kiki! I had to move one of my ceiling cracks over so it would be more in position. I probably shouldn't do this because then you will all see how very far off the mark I really am but here is the detail I was imitating.

Also, I was wondering if anyone noticed something else about this image, another deviation from the original. ~Sharon

I'm sure you are aware, but just have to tell that I found it very amusing how the cracks mimic the cracks in the original from before the restoration in 1980. Very funny. I bet you had a ball making it :)

Thanks, Lee and Mary Anne! Lee, no PS paint filters were used. The background is a photo of the plaster ceiling of my bedroom with its normal cracks and textures. I layered the photo of the hands on the ceiling and then "drew" the cracks over the hands. I thought using the ceiling as background was highly appropriate considering where the original image lives! ~Sharon

Neat idea. No PS paint filter?

Excellent work, Sharon. And thank you for sharing your technique.

Very funny, kiki! Thank you, Traveller! The cracks across the hand and arm were created by using the clone tool set to a very tiny brush and then tracing one of the other cracks. If you look closely you can see the repetition. This would probably qualify as a PP5 according to PK's scale. ~Sharon

Nifty handwork :)

Oh, sharon, you're always so smart...and so good. Do you mind me asking how you got the cracks to go through the hand and forearm as you did? I guess that this is a simple masking thing...but still a mystery to me. How did you do it? Best Wishes, Traveller
