It was on a beautiful morning just like this 1 and a half years ago at this location that my journey into photography began. Winnie had just purchased a Nikon D70 for an upcoming trip to Europe and we wanted to learn how to use it before leaving Australia. It was my first experience even holding an SLR. We decided to drive to Cradle Mountain National Park, the mountain's peak being the most photographed in Australia. My first lesson was that you have to wake up early. We organized a shoot just after dawn and the conditions were perfect, wispy clouds, no movement in Dove Lake allowing for a crystal clear reflection, great light, no clouds obscuring the mountain. It was the first time I had been touched by a landscape and I decided at then that I would learn to capture something of the beauty of the land. I have returned to Cradle Mountain numerous times and have captured it in many its many moods. On this recent morning I was reminded of the time I made my decision to pursue photography, clear sky with radiating clouds over a still lake.
