Jewel in the Crown

Ruthven Barracks, Kingussie, Scotland.

A stunning clear windless day and unusual circumstances that saw Ruthven barracks and the low lying marshes submerged under a sheet of water. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, not actually my favourite conditions I quickly realised the potential for some intensely colourful reflections of the barracks and aligned all the elements for maximum impact. The polariser together with Velvia film produced colours that sent the cone cells in your eyes into near apoplexy.
