Today we went to the north of the Peak District. We were intending to have a long walky, but we had to turn back early. When we set off, the weather was cheerfully sunny. But soon some very, very big clouds gathered and the sun went away. We were climbing up a hill on the moors when we saw a sheet of white stuff falling from the sky further up the path and it came closer and closer! Then we were surrounded by a dense hailstorm and thunder! We took shelter behind a dry-stone wall but the thunder continued and then snow started to fall heavily. Normally I like snow, but we were both getting very wet and could not see anything so we went home as quickly as we could!
This afternoon was spent in a much more satisfactory way - curled up warmly indoors in front of the telly!
