This is a tough one. I read the title first (before reading the comments) as the dog wanting the fleas to die. But the state of the dogs life that you captured so honestly brought tears to my eyes. It is haunting and powerful and sad.--Rene
The only power this dog has is to try and kill its lice and fleas. Here in Bangkok, a strongly Buddhist country, these dogs are never euthanised.

This is harrowing. I actually find it hard to look at. Having said that, like Kal, I don't find the title cruel but also one of pity. Maybe that's also one of the reasons I feel so strongly for dogs - =that they never ask for our pity however tough their situations. This image will stay with me long after I navigate away from here.
For the risk of getting flamed...leave the title for what this image expressed to YOU...that is the freedom of art isn't it? I saw your title as pity, not as mean...funny how things can be in the eye of the beholder ;-))K
