Cobb Peak reconnaissance

Silver Island Mountains, Utah view map

I’m standing on a minor ridge of Cobb Peak just below the high point of the day's exploration. In the left distance is Crater Island, the northern extension of the Silver Island Mountains. Much closer is an unnamed two-tone tower having a summit elevation of 5622 feet (1713m). The salt/mud flats below are at about 4200 feet (1280m). Close to this spot I found evidence of another person's visit: a small sardine can. This is where I started my climb.

This airy photo was made possible in part by
my trusty photographic assistant, Joe Tripod.

Beautiful shot. Love all of them especially this one.

This is just excellent.

All the various "rules" are in play here (Thirds, exposure, focus, etc), but the composition and detail take second place to seeing someone truly happy and enjoying life.

Bravo.

Just to make things clear a "derelict track" is not record of Dave's trip...

Nice shot Dave!

This is very interesting, my first toy car as a child was a "Railton" as driven by John Cobb to break the Land Speed record.
He also raced at Brooklands, now a derelict track.

This is a fine image of a beautiful spot. Your new camera performed admirably, and Joe is a real stand-up guy!

Vote worthy job T.Joe. Sorry about the sardine can, must have a hole in my pack.
