Wonderfull intense colours greeted me with the rising sun lifting over Mono Lake. The sky still had some of the twilight colours of purple and blue directly overhead and I noticed that the calcified plants at the edge of the water had picked up some of the cool reflected colours providing a complementary set of colours against the fire forming in the lake. Alas it was impossible to hold depth of field throughout so I opted to keep the foreground plants crisp and allow the background to drift out of focus and provide a wash of colour.
