My gt-aunt Sarah Ann Hunt (nee Cooper) lived in the middle cottage of the three on the opposite side of Mill Lane. She had moved the from the cottage ( known to our family as Grandma's Cottage) immediately to the left of the mill when she married in 1925 (old) Sam Hunt after his first wife died.

Sally Cooper had become guardian to my Mother, Gwen Cooper, in 1921.

Grandmother had married (for the third time) after the war in which my grandfather Frank Cooper died but she died in 1921 and the step-father John Hart wasn't allowed to carry on bringing up the three girls.

Mum thought it was something to do with the fact they were 'war orphans'. John, his son Len (Mum's step-brother) and his mother Hannah (nee Alder) moved to Aldershot where John had family from his first marriage.
