Fallen heroes

Karlovac

The Yugoslav government loved heavy statues of WW2 heroes. When the '91 war started blowing them up became a favorite activity. These fallen partisans were in a park in Karlovac.

sumar, if you want to talk about certain past ea. history, maybe you should check Karlovac history before time when so called liberators after WW2 came and stayed in for 45 years... Maybe you would be suprised by fact that there were many churces (catolic ones offcourse) ruined down to make place for this kind of statues. Not that comunists/lead by serbs destroyed many cultural buildings and used rocks to build roads to serbian villages but they also have been killing croats for years after end of war, no matter were they guilty of something or not - their guilt was that they were dreaming of free Croatia.

Sumar I find your comments ironic considering you don't recognize the fact that the Communist Yugoslav regime tried to eradicate everything cultural in Croatia - from Ban Jelacic's statue on the Trg to cultural street names that existed long before the 1940s. So spare me your lamenting the loss of these statues, who by the way depict those that killed thousands in the Second World War and following. Ever hear of the Death Marches and Bleiburg?

Destroying history is inexcusable, but expected. Especially from people who want to selectively forget or change certain parts of history which do not appeal to them
