18th August 2006 - caged and forlorn

I’ve been looking at a scene like this a number of times in the last few weeks, thinking ‘I’ll do that as my PAD one of these days’ and today is that day.

We have a dilemma that we’re hoping to resolve soon. We work in a different building to our home but there is no ‘safe’ access to it for the dogs, without going on a lead. So, we put their ‘hats and coats’ on and take them over there, where they get to lie under our desks for the day.

We’re all happy then, the dogs get to be with us, we get to be with them, we get our feet warmed by those little doggy cushions and, as I’ve already said, we all are happy.

When it’s warm enough (and recently that’s not been often), we rig up a gate so they can get outside and see what’s going on but can’t get down onto the road. When I pop over the way to get us coffee, I can see R&A following my every move with anxious little looks on their faces. Where are you? Why are you going without us? Can I see a way down so I can get to you? Please come back soon!

Personally, I think they look more than a little cute. Shortly after I took this shot, I was back in the office and they were back at my feet. I’ll never tire of being thrilled at how much they want to be around me.

We’re all looking forward to the start of the footie season tomorrow – COYS! And we’re on the box too – cool!

Last year, I was flashing cleavage while hiding from the bad guys under my desk!

They are both such beautiful and healthy looking dogs - and seem to have a great life. This shot shows them off wonderfully.

It is wonderful having the dogs around while you are working. Our three are usually in my office with me. Right now two are looking out the back deck door and the third is under the chair next to me. They usually just snooze around me. Except if the phone rings and I have to talk on the phone. Then they want me to let them in or out.--Rene

Thank God I didn't post the terrible Korean restaurant 'Buy One, get one free' comment.

Oh, Linda, now you've done it -- made me long for Airlie. What a perfect image of their expressions. BTW, I think I've not been paying attention - who's the one (bitch, I'm guessing from the somewhat narrow looking head and muzzle) on the left? She has an uncanny resemblance to Airlie (except that Airlie's ears were stock straight all the time). Wonderful shot.
