Really good, Jennifer, pure photographic work.
i discovered your account thanks to Maciej's favorites list, and I will come back as i get acquainted to them. You seem to have an unique voice, camera in hand.

I like it because I feel a joy from colour in a 'hundreds of pieces' assemblage...it almost suggests candy or party or even freedom to enjoy...the person here is unimportant in my analysis of expressiveness...though, the foot in the shoe is a stride of suggestion.....depends wholly upon your sense of context for the flowering of passion...

A hint of irony for me...Phil says he is trapped...I think this is sanctuary, her place...hand is to her mouth, and if I know China, she is maybe eating some sunflower seeds or someting...she is hiding form Society, no hard marketing here, just pure, personal, space...something there is not much of in Shanghai ;-))K

**** Just last week, while in New York City, I made a picture very much like this of a guy having a cup of coffee behind a plant. The photo showed only see his leg and one arm. But I trashed it because while the abstract qualities were there, the message was not. You use the identical form of abstraction, but your image coveys a message because of the startling incongruous juxtaposition of the mass of pots and dishes she hides behind. She seems to be imprisoned by them, but too shy to call for help. I gave my image two stars and dumped it. I give yours four, because it makes me think and feel.

She`s hidden behind her "treasures", her body language shows she`s eating or something else...love the tension in her leg and feet. The whole interior is what we called here "chinese baroque" - I love that! Nice complement with your mirrored SP "in action Jenn"!
