I have come to enjoy trying to photograph hover flies. They are beautiful, graceful, and a challenge because most of the species around my area are so small that they are barely visible to the naked eye. I saw this poor fellow stagger from the corolla and then flip onto his back and, I assume, pass on (see next image). In photography opportunity knocks only if you are prepared.
