Evacuation from Srebrenica

Tuzla, Bosnia

Srebrenica was under seige. There were a lot of people in the town who needed medical attention so the UN agreed to evacuate a large number to Tuzla in British helicopters. When the refugees started arriving there were some who were in dire need of medical attention, but there were also a bunch who were in perfect health and had apparently bribed their way onto the exit flights. Not by paying the Brits, but by bribing the locals who were deciding who got to leave. This man was carried by two British soldiers to a waiting ambulance.
