Mort Subite

Home, kitchen

This is my favorite drink - a Belgian beer than I can't get in the States. In fact, I haven't managed to find it anywhere except in Brussels. Fortunately, they sell to-go boxes for shipping. These are the empties from my last trip, which was too long ago. So if any of you PBasers over in that part of the world want to send me a prezzie.... ;-)

For those who are curious, the name in French means "Sudden Death". The name of the beer (and the brewery and the cafe) comes from the term for the last round of a dice game many of the patrons used to play while drinking at the establishment.

This week the Thursday Challenge was, "Cheers" or "Your Favorite Tipple"

Never a great fan of Lambics, (maybe they're like Scotch and you have to 'acquire' the taste), but still a great picture and I really liked the story that goes with it. (Wish I did more of that myself).

Here's hoping you get your case.

Lambics are a treat. That small area in Belgium with just the right airborne yeast is such a mystery. A true grain champagne :) We get a different one here in Nashville. It comes in a 16 oz. champagne-like bottle. YUMMY!
