Thanks all.

Lonnit,

It seemed to fit the challenge well and I did not get anything more edgier to replace it. Check out my Flickr page. It is edgy I hope?

Funny, Lee, I must be so used to your less traditional work now that this, to me, seems boring. LOL! I prefer your edgier work. ~ Lonnit

Very nice: color, action, the guy. Nothing superfluous in this picture

Seeing the glow on the fingers of his left hand and wrist is nice. I figure that the radiant heat hitting him in those areas would be very uncomfortable to most of us. But he's so focused on getting the glass right that he's putting up with it. I can also see a bit of this red glow on his face too. And I like the way that makes me able to almost feel it all myself. By insulation, I was referring to the facial hair, clothes, and fat. It was meant to be a joke. I hope it wasn't offensive. -- Victor

Victor,
No insulation. He is turning the rod while getting some new glass. He said that stainless steel was not a good conductor of heat.

He seems to have a bit of insulation. -- Victor

He said it wasn't hot. But, I think he has been doing this for a while.

Wow, I cannot believe that he is working with his bare hands so close to those flames! Definitely in the "xtreme temperature" category. At 800 ISO I guess the noise is rather unavoidable. ~jnconradie

Not too great of a crop. More or less just to a 3x4 format. Some noise added with a slight glow. Shot at 800 ISO in a very dim room.

Judging by the noise, I'm guessing this is a fairly significant crop of the original. But you used a zoom lens. If I'm right, why didn't you compose more tightly when you took the picture? -- Victor
