Do You Wanna Dance?!? * Traveller

I was going to post VolcanoNight to match VolcanoDay, but then I thought I'd throw as wide a net as possible. Again, a scan. And I'll start working on making it better right now.

Thanks, Jason, sometimes in the Challenges I reach a bit, maybe even too far in trying to find something interesting and different...and certainly in eligible, the main goal is to practice my PS skills, meager as they are...lol But I'm sincerely glad you liked this one.
Best Wishes, Traveller

Trav, I can't say this in any way that won't sound like a backhanded compliment, but I don't get the meanings of your other work sometimes. This, I'd have to be dead not to understand. It speaks so clearly and so vividly, it's just an awesome capture. As a bird owner, I can't believe I'm saying this about such a brutal practice, but I guess art transcends the subject matter from time time.

Thanks for sharing an image that is guaranteed to evoke xtreme emotions. Well captured. ~jnconradie

I'm against this very controversial activity. That said, the kids in the background are an excellent and important part of the image. Their innocence, as children, being involved with this brutality, is quite a statement. It makes for an EXTREMELY good image. Controversy is often a great part of real art. Truly, an excellent story shot. Kudos! ~ Lonnit

Well, thank you Debbi and Sharon, I was afraid that the children were a distraction, but they do lend context and a human element. The children raise and care for the birds, note the child in blue cradling one, for their father, who then fights the birds in local betting contests. Best Wishes, Traveller

Now this is definitely extreme! The kids belong to these birds?

I tried pulling out the kids in the background, but I had little success. Hummmm. I'll try again when I return shortly. Best Wishes, Traveller
