Bradgate Park in Leicestershire was the estate of the Grey family, notably Lady Jane Grey who was Queen for only nine days before she was beheaded in 1553. Purchased in 1928 by a local industrialist, Charles Bennion, who bequeathed it to the people of Leicester for recreational enjoyment, the park is open all year round and especially inviting early on a crisp icy morning.
