I put up a diffuser screen behind the camera to hide some of my stacked up woodshop tools. I noticed that it was at a slight angle at the top but decided at least the tools were out of sight. I placed a small mirror against my pull down black background. It tended to push the background back a bit and also gave an interesting angle to the vase and flower. I used one smith-victor hot light through a diffuser screen. You can see the wide reflection on the vase. I added a little vignette around the edges to draw attention inward.
I used my light meter for my setting instead of the in camera meter and didn't bother checking to see how close they might be.
