JNA pilot at exchange

Nemetine, Croatia

This pilot in the Yugoslav Air Force was being exchanged at Nemetine. He may have been a Serb, or he could have been any other Yugoslav nationality. A lot of pilots were Slovenes, and many were Croats. During the brief war between Yugoslavia and Slovenia a JNA helicopter was shot down by the Slovenes, killing the two airmen on board. It turned out they were both Slovenes and they were carrying a cargo of bread. To me, that is one of the stories about this war that says much.

No winners in that war! Yugoslavia was just a name, not much more after Tito died. What kind of victory is that? There were more civilized ways to get rid off the name. the nationalist and shortsighted people would not allow it, and they lived in all the corners of that doomed Yugoslavia that you so hated. So you must be one of these "people". If it gives you joy that the name is not there any more, go on live happily after, while many others are healing the damage you have caused.

No. Croatia is free. Bosnia-Hercegovina is free. Macedonia is free. Slovenia is free and Kosova is almost there. There are winners in war. Yugoslavia is finally dead.
