New Orleans Fairgrounds Racetrack

New Orleans

I consider this my jewel photo of the day. I had to climb a six foot chain link fence to get in; then climb back over to get out.
The roof came off in the winds of Katrina but is nearly repaired. The grandstand blew away but it, too, is being rebuilt. There is no date set for the return of horse racing. This is the oldest racetrack in the United States.

A grand picture. Hopefully it won't be too long before racing re-commences

Yes, well worth the efforts, my Dear ~ I love the ponies & you've captured a great shot of what will soon be some more "And they're off!" ... GMV, Climbing Coleen
