2/28 - Fat Tuesday

Browne House, Carrollton TX

I really don't think B&W is the appropriate venue for this shot but a deal is a deal so here is the last one of the Feb.
Not sure if I will go to color tomorrow or not...I mean Ash Wednesday just seems made for B&W right? We will see.

I would like take this space to thank Gary for the challenge this month. This marks a first for me. You see, I started
my PAD last June but had never managed to post even a whole month's worth of photos before this, much less a whole
month's worth shot entirely in that particular month. I did that this February and I very much doubt that I would
have if Gary had not come up with this idea. I have also proved to myself that I have no clue what photos you fine folks
will like very much and not so much, as shots I thought were throw aways just to keep my streak going got rave comments and
more votes than I thought to ever see while shots I thought were "lights out" where met with significantly less enthusiasm.
So much for me knowing anything! I would also like to say thanks to those others who did B&W month with me. I learned something
from each of you during the month and frequently took inspiration from you. Each and every one of you did a great job
with this challenge and should be proud of your work. Thanks for letting me tag along.

February is Black and White month for many of us PADers. Check out Gary Winters PAD page or Bob Townsend's Topic for a list of those participating.

By the way
I just checked out your Krispy Kremes again!

A comment that you mentioned early on stayed with me each time I worked on an image. You said that you learned that a good b/w should contain the deepest blacks and the whitest whites. That is what I attempted to do. Thanks, Bob

The contrast on this image is very good. I like my b/w with quite a bit of contrast, personally. It looks like it tasted good. :)

It has been fun. I've really enjoyed your photos. Don't slow down on your postings.

Something to celebrate and why not, a full month of posts and all b&w, not easy.
My only advice (after just completing my first year, one new photo every day) is to post what you feel is right and not what others might like. By all means experiment with your style, copy others if you like what you see. It's been a great month sharing your photo's. My favourite photo of yours this month has to be the umbrella shot or perhaps . . . .

I've enjoyed your daily shots and waiting to see what you'd come up with each day. Keep it up, b&w or not.
