I don't remember the result of the hit, he does tend to reach out in his swings. Shutter lag? Most of the pics I took the ball was still in front of the batter. I use the start of the batters swing to release the shutter - I'll need to adjust accordingly.

Did he pull it foul??? It's a little inside on the handle almost... Did it take long to get used to no shutter lag??? ;-}

Bruce - I was using the P mode which handles the aperture and shutters speeds for me, but I get to mess up the WB and the ISO myself. I didn't notice the f-stop was set so high until I put the pic up here. Next time I'll set it to aperture priority and open it up a bit and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion.

Do you think you could use a little higher shutter speed and stop the blur of the bat and ball? You don't really need a large DOF for a shot like this, so maybe you could open up a little and raise the shutter speed. Just a thought.

Yes, we are fortunate (but it does come with a price tag) - notice the guy in the background with the shorts and tank-top? But he always dresses this way - even when I have two sweaters, a jacket and a knit hat on. Very rare that he has long pants and a sweater.

Baseball already, great timing on this Mike. Remember it is skill and not luck. You are also fortunate to be able to experience baseball in February.
